In celebration of Women’s History Month, what woman (living or passed) would you love to have dinner with?
If i must pick only one, it must be… Starhawk.
Who else would you invite to that dinner to enjoy that experience with you?
There are so many wonderful ladies within my circles, their smiling faces came flooding visually through my mind’s eye, it took me serval minutes to narrow it down to the top 5: Amber O’Neill (HappyDay Farms), Johanna Mortz (Polykulture Cannyard), Erin Carney & Jane Futcher (Wild Women Farms), & my daughter Kimberly Ivey.
What women have inspired and influenced you?
Starhawk, Shekhinah Mountainwater, Clyda Hare (my grandmother), Margaret Meed, Verlene Barbour (my mother)
When you’re not farming, how do you enjoy spending your time?
Teaching farmers how to grow beyond organic, while increasing yields, flavor, and potency.
I also enjoy deep forest hiking and camping, making jewelry, painting, dancing, and yoga.
When you were a 10-year-old girl, what did you want to be when you grew up?
What would you tell 10-year-old you today?
Live for the experience, laugh and enjoy the fun that living brings you, make sweet wine from sour grapes and share it with your closest friends, keep your mind open to all possibilities, and always share the love from your heart to the people around you.
