Happy Saturday! We’d like to introduce you to our super awesome Office Manager extraordinaire, Parke Davis. Parke has spent the past year as an integral member of our family.
How did you get into the cannabis industry?
Flow Kana is actually my first and only job in the industry! I got my medical recommendation is May 2015 and one of the first dispensaries I signed up with was Flow Kana. A few months later, when I was looking for a change in careers, the first ad I saw was for here. Having friends and family who not only use cannabis medicinally but who are small-scale farmers as well, our values and goals really resonated with me. I’m a huge believer in fate so I applied and have already spent an awesome year here!
What has been the most rewarding part of working for Flow Kana?
Everyday I go to work, I am so thankful to be around so many unique, knowledgeable and compassionate people. I feel like I learn something new all the time and as such, we all grow as a team. We are always firing on all cylinders and While we tend to be slightly tongue-in-cheek when referring to ourselves as the Flow Kana family, I genuinely think we are closer to that then coworkers.
What is it like visiting the farms and getting to spend time with the farmers that Flow Kana works with?
Visiting the farms has been my favorite perk of the working for Flow Kana so far. They are absolutely gorgeous and a cannabis lovers dream. There were plants that had stems as big as my wrist! I’m convinced our farmers are geniuses. They have such a wealth of knowledge about what it takes to take care of the land and make things grow – from garlic to zucchini to Lemonhead OG. If the zombie apocalypse ever happens, I want them on my team.
When you’re not working, how do you enjoy spending your time?
I love to cook. I fall asleep watching Chopped most nights so I like to find one random ingredient and make a whole meal out of that! I’m really into movies so any time I have by myself, I try to see as many movies as I can by myself. My favorite director would have to be Quentin Tarantino and I’ve seen all nine of his movies – ten if you count his cult classic multi-director ensemble film, Four Rooms.
What is your favorite strain?
BERRY WHITE! It is absolutely perfect. I’m very sensitive to strong, active sativas but this hybrid is the perfect balance of strong cerebral effects and a total mellow body feel that is perfect for anything you have on your calendar, whether it’s yoga or grocery shopping during rush hour.
